“How we've brought philosophy to music”

Necrosofia - [Greek nekro - combining form of nekrós - dead person, corpse, (adj.) dead; sophia - Koine Greek: σοφία sophía - wisdom]

On November 1st, 2018, we went down to the underworld to record an extremely personal album. We decided not to make any assumptions, settlements or play ready-made compositions. It is impossible to be ready for a meeting with the abyss. It is defined to be unrecognized and full of threats, but contains a huge potential from which we can draw if we are ready to walk courageously through its intricate corridors. We want the cold limbo of eternal duration in which one can meet the spark of reminiscence of past life on earth to be a source of knowledge for us and attentive listeners.

In order to be able to communicate with what goes beyond the realm of logical reasoning in the material world, we had to open ourselves to the action of our unconsciousness and use it to seek a new language, sounds, and silence. We trusted our intuition to be our guide and lead us through ourselves to the lands we did not know existed.

Knowledge of death in our history is about what is underground, hidden, dead for us and the surrounding world. This is a trail where there are no paths, because nobody is walking there. It contains emotions and feelings unused, dusty in the attic of our psyche. It consists of ugliness, fear, disgust, impotence but also childlike naivety, hope or faith. Someone who is brave and vigilant can hear the lament of love locked in Davy Jones' trunk or see this feeling’s triumph and warmth raised on the firmament.

We hope that everyone will see in our music themselves and their interior, just as we have seen our currently unknown - corridors.
